چکیده
Terminalia catappa L. is a large, spreading type of tree which usually grows in tropical environment, especially at coastal area with sandy stones. The current study evaluated anti-Bacillus potential the ethanolic ketapang (Terminalia L.) leaf extract (EKLE) as antibacterial and sporicidal agent against vegetative cells spores Bacillus spp. activity EKLE (B. cereus ATCC33019, B. pumilus ATCC14884, subtilis ATCC6633 megaterium ATCC14581) were determined by performing well diffusion assay (WDA), minimum inhibition concentration (MIC), bacterial (MBC) time-kill curve analyses. was tested different concentrations EKLE. Then, extract's stability terms activities upon exposure to temperatures pHs carried out. Results demonstrated zones range 9.25 ± 0.75 mm - 11.67 0.47 mm. All inhibited MIC values 0.63–1.25 mg/mL can be completely killed MBC 0.63 >5.00 mg/mL. Time-kill analysis showed all 2.50–5.00 from 1 4 h. 1% (w/v) time. not affected (4, 30, 50, 80 121 °C) (3, 7 10), revealing conditions. In conclusion, exhibits spp., therefore, developed agent, paving way for its utilization food industry natural preservative.

Objective: The present study was undertaken to evaluate in-vitro antimicrobial activity of methanol, acetone and N, N-dimethylformamide extracts from leaf of Terminalia catappa L. (Combretaceae). Methods: In vitro antimicrobial activity of all the extracts was done by agar disc diffusion assay. 91 clinically important strains were used for the study, which were both clinical isolates as well as...
متن کاملAntidiabetic activity of Terminalia catappa Linn fruits.
In view of alleged antidiabetic potential, effect of the petroleum ether, methanol, and aqueous extracts of Terminalia catappa Linn (combretaceae) fruit, on fasting blood sugar levels and serum biochemical analysis in alloxan-induced diabetic rats were investigated. All the three extracts of Terminalia catappa produced a significant antidiabetic activity at dose levels 1/5 of their lethal doses...
